YouTube Go lands in the Play Store, lets you watch and share offline videos

“YouTube Go lets you share saved offline videos with your friends over Bluetooth”

Google has launched a new YouTube app for Android users in the Play Store. Called YouTube Go, the app lets you preview, watch and share videos without internet connectivity. The app weighs just a little over 6MB in size, and is already available to download in India.
YouTube Go is compatible with all Android devices running v4.1 Jelly Bean or higher. After downloading the app, you will be required to fill up your details like phone number and Google account to register for the app. It is much like regular YouTube app, but when you select a video, it asks you to either play it or save it offline.
You can save a video offline in two resolutions – basic quality at 144p and standard quality at 360p. It is designed for regions with comparatively slower internet speeds like India. You can share saved offline videos with your friends via Bluetooth. Sharing videos will require access to the internet to perform a 15kb security check.
It’s worth mentioning that the app is listed on Play Store as YouTube Go (Unreleased). Since the app is in beta at the moment, it may be unstable on some devices.
