“Micromax is aiming to sell six million Bharat series phones in the coming six months”
Earlier this week, The Economic Times reported that Micromax was planning to launch the budget VoLTE-enabled Bharat One feature phone and Bharat Two smartphone soon. Now the publication has revealed the pricing of the upcoming Micromax Bharat series devices
At ET Telecom’s India Mobile Congress event, Micromax Chief Marketing Officer Shubhajit Sen told the publication about the company’s plans for budget Bharat phones. The Bharat 2 will be the first Google-approved phone to be priced below Rs 3,000. The budget 4G VoLTE-enabled offering will be released in the coming two weeks.
As for the VoLTE-enabled Bharat 1 feature phone, the report suggests that it will be launched soon after the unveiling of the Bharat 2, and will be priced at Rs 1,999. Micromax is aiming to sell up to six million units of its upcoming Bharat series devices in the next five to six months. This will help the brand to regain its market share and better compete against Chinese and domestic vendors.
