As announced earlier, US-based Caterpiller Inc. has launched the Cat S60, the world’s first smartphone with an integrated thermal camera, in India. The phone was introduced at MWC 2016 in Spain, and now over a year later has finally landed in India.

The Cat S60 is equipped with a FLIR Lepton thermal imaging sensor, which works in tandem with the regular 13-megapixel rear shooter and dual-LED flash. As per the brand, the phone is capable of detecting heat signatures and measuring temperatures from a distance of up to 50 to 100 feet, even through windows, doors and smoke.
Another highlight of the Cat S60 is its highly rugged design. The phone gets MIL-810G certification, which allows it to survive in a depth of five meters of water for an hour. The device can also be used as an underwater camera. Apart from this, the handset can withstand drops on concrete from up to 1.8 meters.
As far as the other specs are concerned, the Cat S60 features a 4.7-inch HD display with Gorilla Glass 4, a Snapdragon 617 processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, Android Marshmallow, 4G LTE and a 3,800mAh battery.
Coming to the pricing and availability, the Cat S60 has been priced at Rs 64,999, and will go on sale via high-end multi-brand stores across the country and on Amazon India.
