Oppo F3 Plus goes official: a selfie expert with dual selfie cameras

we have a new Selfie expert on the block. The Oppo F3 Plus doubles the front cameras to get those sweet 120° shots - perfect for capturing all of your friends.
The wide-angle selfies you take with an 8MP camera. For high-resolution solo shots, you get a 16MP main camera (with a regular field of view). The main camera on the back borrows the hardware from the R9s - a 1/2.8” Sony IMX398 sensor behind a bright f/1.7 aperture. There’s Dual Pixel autofocus plus a dual-tone LED flash on board as well.
The similarities continue - the Oppo F3 Plus has a “six string” antenna, meaning it has aesthetically pleasing antenna lines with solid reception.
The new phone is bigger than the R9s, though, it has a sizable 6” screen on the front with sub-2mm bezels on the side. It’s a 1080p screen guarded by Gorilla Glass 5. The battery is larger too - 4,000mAh capacity promises great battery life while VOOC charge will fill it back up lickety-split.
The larger battery allowed Oppo to go for a more powerful chipset - a Snapdragon 653 - which features four Cortex-A73 cores (+ four A53), similar to the top dogs (though built on a less efficient 28nm process). The chipset is hooked up to 4GB of RAM and 64GB storage (expandable). Android 6.0 Marshmallow has been painted with Color OS 3.0, Oppo’s latest custom software.
The phone is definitely coming out in India, when and for how much is yet to be revealed. The official announcement is coming in tomorrow - what we have here is a case of a page going up prematurely. Hopefully the event will fill us in on those details. We should also see the F3 Plus' smaller brother then - the Oppo F3.

Google outs first developer preview of Android O

“Android O will bring picture-in-picture, improved notifications and battery life”
Google has released the first developer preview of Android O to the world. The new version brings a handful of new features and performance improvements.
Android O brings new automatic limits imposed on applications, and specifically what they can do in the background. It is expected to enhance the performance and battery life of devices. Notifications are also getting an upgrade in Android O, with developers now able to define categories for notification content.
Google introduced Picture-in-Picture (PIP) mode for the first time on Android TV. With Android O, this feature is finally coming to phones and tablets. This feature will let you watch videos while using other apps. Also, Android O is bringing multi-display support, font resources in XML, support for adaptive app icons, Wi-Fi Aware and more.
While Google traditionally releases the name of the new Android versions after Google I/O, the consensus at the moment appears to be ‘Oreo’. The final release of the new version will be released in the third quarter of this year, so you’ll have to wait a while for a stable build on your device. It’s worth mentioning that Android Nougat is only running on around 2.5 percent of total Android phones and tablets as of now.
